Will “Shrek the Halls” Become a Holiday Classic?

I’d say it’s tough to break into the upper tier of tried-and-true holiday TV specials, but “Shrek the Halls” is determined to become a holiday classic.
“Shrek the Halls,” the latest reincarnation of the hugely successful “Shrek” franchise, is making its way to television on Wednesday at 8 PM on ABC.
One of the coolest things is that all of the original voice talent are in the special – Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots).
Shrek, ever the grump, will learn the true meaning of Christmas. According to Diaz, “It’s just wonderful to see how they celebrate their Christmas and what it means to them. And the humor is there and the beauty is there and the message is there.”
