Two formidable competitors are in the race, and while David Archuleta is very, very good — David Cook has a more unique sound and the talent to make any song his own.

Whether David Cook wins the American Idol 7 finale or not (we think he will though!), make no mistake that this isn’t the last we’ll see of him. After all, Chris Daughtry didn’t even make it to the final two of American Idol and he has one of the most impressive careers in Idol history.

But what about David Archuleta’s fan base? Can’t they carry him to American Idol 7 victory? No doubt that David Archuleta has a big chunk of the voters – he’s never landed in the bottom two or three this season.
