While Wayne Newton made a noble attempt on “Dancing with the Stars,” he didn’t succeed in making it to the end. Now, plans for Newton to appear on the season finale of the show have been canceled due to a viral infection of the heart. The “Dancing with the Stars” finale airs November 27th.

The ever upbeat Newton told People magazine, “[I'm] going to be just fine. This is just another little bump in the road. The doctors are a little more concerned than I am. Part of their concern is that I feel so good — I’m not taking this lightly.”

Newton has also canceled shows at Harrahs in Las Vegas. The performer is expected to make a full recovery in the next two months, and plans to appear in the “Dancing with the Stars” nationwide tour.
