Kate Gosselin starts the Today show interview by noting the family is “doing wonderfully.”

On to the rumor control, Kate Gosselin said the kids weren’t expelled, but that Collin and Alexis were having other issues.

Gosselin explains, “We have a situation where the kids are in an academically-excelling school, where academics are pushed, and I fully support it, combined with kids who having just gone through a divorce (are) suffering normal feelings, and the two collided, and they just were not doing well with the combination.”

Specifically, some of the Gosselin kids are “having anger issues, acting out, having behavior things,” but Kate notes it’s all “very normal, normal stuff.”

The kids were taken out of school and are now working with a private tutor, plus they have weekly therapy. Kate adds, “My kids are back. They’re happy. They’re functioning and all is well again.”

Kate Gosselin also talks a bit about her ex, Jon Gosselin, saying, “I have never personally been apologized to. I don’t really consider an interview on TV or in a tabloid as an apology, unfortunately. But I have, strangely and ironically, forgiven him for the sake of our kids. He will always be their dad… I’m hurt and angry, but what good does it do to live that way? I’m pushing ahead and providing a future for my kids, so I don’t have time to waste sitting around being upset.”

The Kate Plus 8 reality series continues to keep filming, with Kate shooting down rumors that the show had been canceled.

She said “nothing but positive” has come out of the reality show, saying it has provided “trips of a lifetime” and is providing for their future. She thinks the reality show is in their best interest.
