Sad news to report this evening… legendary newsman Walter Cronkite died today – he was 92 years old. Cronkite’s death comes a month after his family issued a statement about the news legend suffering from cerebrovascular disease.

Walter Cronkite had suffered the illness for some years.

Cronkite servesd as anchor of the CBS Evening News from 1962-1981, and was affectionately known as “Uncle Walter” for the way he seemed to just feel like family to so many of the viewers.

Cronkite was voted the “most trusted man in America” for his honest news reporting.
