Velez-Mitchell says Coverage on Octuplet Mom is for Ratings Only
Jane Velez-Mitchell voiced her true opinion on the coverage of Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets.
Velez-Mitchell didn’t hold back her views on why the news has covered the Suleman family so hard. “This idea that we’re all doing this for some altruistic purpose is nonsense,” she said. “We’re doing it for ratings and let’s be real about that.”
When confronted with the fact that she has “been talking about this constantly on cable for more than a week”, Velez-Mitchell replied, “I blame the media.”
She went on to say, “For decades we’ve been acting like the cheerleading squad for these extremely large families…So we have to look at ourselves in the mirror and realize that a lot of the messages that we send for our own selfish purposes are extremely irresponsible.”
Do you agree? Is our culture more supportive of extreme sized families, ie; The Duggers, The Gosselins, The Jolie-Pitts?

Certainly, Nadya S. has been irresponsible, but let us give her a chance to make amends. She has so many people who can’t stand what she has done, but do you think it will help her to be continually referred to as some rotten person. She needs some uplifting also.
Rather than being beaten down, it could help her to want to do much better than she has started out. And it would help those dear 14 children as they grow up. They need a mother who they can repect along with her short comings. For their sakes, let’s say only the nice things she does from now on.
