While it’s unclear if Hudgens has signed a contract yet, she told People magazine at the American Music Awards that she is “so very excited.” Adding, “To do a third one for the big screen, I can’t begin to think how much fun we’ll have.”

She also commented that although “only a few people have actually signed the contracts … We’re all definitely on board.” Phew. So, that Vanessa Hudgens naked picture scandal didn’t seem to have any ill effects on planning a third “High School Musical.” We can all breathe easier.

“High School Musical” director, Kenny Ortega, weighed in on the possible sequel as well:
“We’re all verbally committed, and we’re all very hopeful of doing this. We want to do this, and we’re going to have some new characters arriving at East High. That’ll be fun, mix it up a little bit.”
