Twitter reality show?
Twitter could soon be moving from social networking in 140 characters – to a competitive TV series. What the what?

Twitter has teamed with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners to work out a series based on the Twitter site.

While details are still a bit fuzzy, the TV series would involve Twitter, quite possibly tweeting celebs too. Reveille managing director Howard T. Owens says, “Twitter is transforming the way people communicate, especially celebrities and their fans.”

No doubt Twitter is huge (Nielsen reports that unique Twitter visitors increased from 475,000 during February 2008 to 7 million in February 2009… but can it translate to a TV series?

The show was supposed to be a competition where people would follow and tweet about celebrities. Uber tweeter ashton kutcher threatened to leave the site quipping ” its all fun and games until someone gets stalked”. But the founders are still talking about other ways for twitter to branch out: http://www.newsy.com/videos/twee_vee_twitter_gets_down_to_business
