Toxicology Report Results for Heath Ledger: Accidental Death from Acute Intoxication

Pagesix.com is reporting on the results of Heath Ledger’s toxicology report this morning.

The medical examiner’s report states that:

“Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.

We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications.”

Heath Ledger passed away on January 22nd. A variety of prescription drugs were found in his apartment — sleeping pills, anti-anxiety pills and an antihistamine.

The accidental prescription drug overdose in the medical examiner’s description includes the generic names for OxyContin, anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax and sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is used in painkillers, such as Vicodin.
