Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi is pregnant, her rep tells Usmagazine.com – and it’s a “medical miracle” considering Padma Lakshmi’s struggle with endometriosis.

Lakshmi’s rep says: “As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi’s privacy at this time.”

What is endometriosis? Endometriosis is when the uterus’ lining grows in other areas of the body, and causes infertility in many women.

No word yet on who is the father of Padma Lakshmi’s baby; she and novelist Salman Rushdie split in 2007 after three years of marriage.
