Tina Fey in Discussions to Play Sarah Palin on SNL Season Premiere September 13

Tina Fey may be gracing our TV’s on Saturday Night Live’s September 13 SNL premiere – as Sarah Palin. Well, rumors are that Tina Fey is in discussions with SNL’s Lorne Michaels to play the guest starring gig as the most famous hockey mom in the land.
When Sarah Palin was announced as the VP running mate, immediately comparisons were made between her and former Saturday Night Live star Tina Fey – if anyone could be a dead ringer for Palin on SNL it would be Tina Fey.
Only problem is, Tina Fey hasn’t been on SNL for two years (although she did guest host last season) – rumors are buzzing that she’ll take on Sarah Palin on the season premiere, but Lorne Michaels is staying tight-lipped, saying “There are discussions. They’re ongoing.”
In other SNL news, Lorne Michaels is hoping to get former castmate Maya Rudolph back on the show to play Michelle Obama.
Two new cast members have also been added “on a rolling basis,” with plans to replace Amy Pohler, who is leaving later this season.
