The View November 5 Hot Topics: Elisabeth Hasselbeck Reaction to President Barack Obama Election (Video)

On today’s (November 5) The View Hot Topics, Elisabeth Hasselbeck finally put down the boxing gloves in her fight for McCain and reacted to the election results of President-elect Barack Obama.
Check out the video clip from The View after the jump, as well as what Elisabeth Hasselbeck had this to say:
Elisabeth Hasselbeck responded to her daughter, Grace’s question about who lost the election, saying, “No one lost today – and God knows I fought hard on the other side. Today is a victory for this country. The first black president. The first black first lady. The first black family. I haven’t felt this good…
To which Joy Behar interrupted, with “Are you saying I was right all along?”
The two did mend their ongoing on-air feud with a handshake and a fist bump.

I woke up this morning sick …not because he is black….because people voted for the wrong reason!! And already last night in his speach he is back peddling….He does not think he can get the job done now…..There you go!!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck did what she has said all along on what people should do…respect the position of the President of The United States. You don’t have to agree with them but you respect the position. People are ready to tare EH apart no matter what she says. So you want her off the show…that makes a lot of sense. But I guess that is what people want on The View…all democrats. How boring would that be?

it’s truly sad u think that way…do u think Mc Cain could have repaired what took the Bush administration 8 yrs to practically destroy in one term? Obama was not back peddling….he was being realistic…he never said he can’t get the job done now…what he said is that it’s going to take longer than one term to fix everything completely. When u have over a trillion dollars in debt…which btw…impacts not only locally but globally….and troops in Iraq….and healthcare down the tube…is it even plausible to fix that in a term?! Obama is not superman and neither is McCain. Ppl didnt vote b/c of race…they voted for Obama b/c they believe he’s the man to help fix what’s going on right now in our country

Elizabeth is a two-faced hypocrite. Now she’s acting like shes okay with Obama after all the hate and negativity she had for him. I don’t know how she got hired to be on the view. Her points are pointless.
For the 3rd comment on the site, Obama was not “back peddling”, he is just saying that realistically speaking, it will take time to fix all the problems. That we cannot expect him to have a magic wand and have a perfect world overnight. He wants us to stay realistic.

Maybe he won’t….Why do you put him and your ownself down…You expect to fail…Stop the Jesse Jackson syndrome Look at Tony Dunge, Bill Cosby, Oprah, Believe in yourself and anything can happen. If there’s anything we should all learn now, or at least attempt to open up our minds and grow out of our ignorance, is that WE ARE ALL THE SAME. This feeling of superiority some may have is a figment of imagination. It is not real, it is a lie. A facade to blind us to what is really going on… Cheating, deception, stealing, and so forth. Well, it has now been exposed. America has opened up her eyes and we now see the truth. OBAMA IS THE TRUTH…. down to the very core of his being. Unfortunate, some people will never learn, but in contrary, it is so very fortunate that the majority of this country has. Majority wins… deal with it!

I wanted to comment on the person who said that people only voted for Obama because he was black. Yes, I am an african american woman and I am indeed proud that this country has decided it was time that we put someone such as Obama in office, but it was not because of the color of his skin. I personally was prepared to vote for Clinton in the beginning, but I wanted to be sure that I was voting for the right reasons. I did my research and I found that Obama stood for what I believed in.
I was not a fan of President Bush, but I was willing to give him a chance. It appears that a lot of people are so caught up in the color of his skin that no matter what his intentions, they are just plain disgusted. Never mind that we are in a recession caused by the bush administration, forget that the war was supposed to be about finding Bin Laden. We were ready to impeach Clinton for much less and won’t give Obama a chance. It just really shows me that racism stills lives in this country. Not that I doubted it, but where is the christainity in that?

I think each person on the view is unique and important to the view and I love them all. Elisabeth is part of the reason why I watch the view now. I don’t agree with her views most of the time, but I think that without her points of view, the show would be boring. The others always disagree with her (as do I). They would have no one to ague with. Some people are too closed minded and it is always important to hear the other side and what others are thinking. I always learn from her. Even Barak Obama said in his speech that he looked forward to listening and working with people who have DIFFERENT views from his own. This is how people learn and grow. I respect and love Barbara but I also think that Barbara is kinda rude to Elisabeth. I hope you don’t get rid of Elisabeth. She is important to keeping the show interesting and she keeps everyone on their toes.
On November 6th 2008, Doc Michaels wrote:
What’s funny about all the people who bash Elisabeth is that without her THE VIEW really would BE “THE” View. The entire show is comprised of a group of loud mouthed liberals who aren’t exactly a reflection of this country’s diversity, and Elisabeth — who represents a large amount of people in this country — is the solitary contrasting viewpoint. Without her the show would be an hourly commercial for the DNC every day of the week. And nobody would ever watch it.
That said I think it’s lame she didn’t stick to her actual beliefs, wish Obama well but not go into this “there are no losers today” viewpoint. No actual conservative believes that, even if I think most people are hoping Obama does well. Perhaps she’s more concerned right now about her standing in the show than standing up for what she believes in.

I have to say I’m extremely disappointed in Elizabeth saying that she’s so ready to stand in line to support this president elect. Nobody knows what this man really stands for or what he is planning to do with this country. I wasn’t crazy about McCain either because he wasn’t a true conservative. However, he was extremely better option for this country and our safety than Obama. I find it appalling that any conservative would say that they support Obama because he is the most liberal, controversial person to ever get elected to run this country. It is an appalling situation that he couldn’t even get a job with the FBI or any high ranking government position because of all the relationships he’s had with leaders or former leaders of terrorist groups. I believe all conservatives need to come together, regroup and start standing up for what we believe in and fighting for our beliefs. I’m so tired of being politically correct while the liberals spew their hatred and contempt for us. Elisabeth, you should have stood firm and not run to support a man who will bring this country down and who wants to destroy the very things this country was built on.

I’m sitting here reading through these posts, and I cannot believe how much hatred and ignorance is being displayed. It’s amazing. I’m certainly not saying all posts are such, but you know who you are. All of you Elisabeth-haters are just jealous of her. You can’t stand that she is intelligent, informed, and beautiful. Maybe you individuals need to look at yourselves in the mirror. She is on the View to give “her” views. Do you not get that??? She is no different than the other 4. That is what they are all “paid” to do. They ALL get loud and at times rude when trying to make their point. I’d like to know why it’s ok for the other 4, but not for Elisabeth? That’s a double-standard. I ask that pointed question, but I know the answer. It’s not ok for Elisabeth to express her policital views because she is conservative, and lefty liberals can’t stand to hear conservative viewpoints. They believe their’s is the only one that is correct, and should be the only one expressed. I voted for Obama, and wish him nothing but the best, but the attitude of some left-wing liberals is sickening, and it’s displayed every day on the View. Do you know how you sound????? Listen to yourself sometime. Get a clue!

If I voted for him because he is black, that may be my reason. But you know as well as all the other people who sound like you….that it isn’t because he is black, but it’s because John McCain was not right for the job. And we all know that Palin wasn’t. Now you should have been sick for McCain picking a person much less a woman who was just plain ignorant. Anyone who thinks that they have Foreign Policy experience just because a helicopter flew over her state or because she can see Russia from her state isn’t dumb, it’s just plain ignorance. I voted for PRESIDENT OBAMA, because he made sense. on all of the issues, he just made sense. he has no excuses. And guess what. He is Black. and the beauty of it all is that …….he’s also white. The problem with Obama is not the fact that he is 1/2 black, but that he doesn’t stand for anything! Every time he got called out for an issue, he threw that person under the bus. When it came out about his church preaching hatred and anti-America beliefs, he threw him under the bus even though he had said he was his mentor. When it came out about his past associations with terrorists, he denied even knowing them (until it was proven true). He refused to even wear the American flag pin on his jackets because he didn’t believe in what the flag stood for until this was reported on the news, then all of a sudden, he began wearing the American flag pin on his jackets. You say we should take the time to listen to him — I have. It doesn’t matter how well of a public speaker someone is, if he doesn’t stand for anything and is willing to DO or SAY anything to get elected, it’s WRONG.
