The Sopranos Series Finale Wraps Up With Tony Eating An Onion Ring

HBO has opened the door to a Sopranos spin-off with a series finale that answered no questions and sported no climax. The Sopranos Series Finale: Tony ate an onion ring, Meadow couldn’t park her car, and the family had dinner at a diner. Black screen. The end.
No wonder no one at the network leaked this.

My thinking….
My impression is that Tony definitely gets finished off, but it’s not for the audience’s view. It’s obvious something was definitely going down in that diner, whether a bust or a kill. I believe that individual going to the bathroom was the cue for the “thug” at the jukebox to do the deed, and then he could witness and get confirmation of it on his way out.

There will be no sequels, spin-offs, or movies. You’re missng the point. There cannot possibly be any follow-up to the ending. Folks - the ending is whatever you want it to be, and it expressly because so many people had different opinions of who Tony was. To those who thought he was a scumbag - he was killed. To those who thought he was just a regular guy who happens to be a mobster - life goes on. For those who though he was just trying to raise his family like every other middle-aged guy in the ‘burbs - he’s enjoying a night out with the family. Chase allows you to have your own ending, without superimposing his belief of who Tony is and what his life should end up as.
