The Office’s Mindy Kaling Developing Comedy Series

Kelly Kapoor fans take note – The Office writer/co-star Mindy Kaling just signed a deal with NBC to develop a new comedy series in which she would also star. Not to worry though, as part of the deal, Kaling will still continue to write for and appear as Kelly on The Office next season.
Mindy Kaling said of the new deal: “This is my first step in a Transformers-style way to take over the whole world. I’ve only ever worked for NBC, and I’ve felt an enormous amount of support from the executives there.”
No details yet about what type of comedy show Mindy Kaling will develop, but she does say, “I’ve always wanted to do another show about women.” Kaling had written a WB pilot called “Mindy and Brenda,” about two besties straight out of college.
