“The Office” got its start as a British TV series in 2001, conceived by and starring Ricky Gervais as the clueless boss of a paper company office. Gervais nailed the uncomfortably embarrassing role as David Brent, creating plenty of cringe-worthy television moments.
Fans of the original Office were reluctant about the news that “The Office” was being developed by executive producer Greg Daniels for American audiences. Original British Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are producers for the U.S. version.
The casting of Steve Carell as the Scranton, Pennsylvania Dunder Mifflin regional manager, Michael Scott, and the ensemble cast have proven that “The Office” can translate into a successful series in the U.S. too.
“The Office” employs a single camera setup without a laugh track or studio audience – and is filmed from the perspective of a documentary.
Season four ends with a cast member’s departure – certain to be the star of “The Office” spinoff.
Cast
- Steve Carell – Michael Scott
- Rainn Wilson - Dwight Schrute
- John Krasinski – Jim Halpert
- Jenna Fischer – Pam Beesly
- B.J. Novak – Ryan Howard

you call this a guide? First off too short, more a quickie. And your wrapup of season 4 is too ambigious, and the two character you are possibly refering to that left the show is Toby, and possibly Ryan (who was arrested) and I doubt they would make a spinoff with Toby. Over the last season he makes few appearances with screen time. Same with Ryan, who is also listed as Co-producer on shows.
So lame guide dude. And yes i could do your job…
