Showtime is wrapping up “The L Word” early next year, airing the sixth and final season – but an “L Word” spin-off is already planned for the network.

At this point, it’s unclear which of the “L Word” actresses will star in the spinoff, according to Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt.

According to Greenblatt, “We’re still forming it. I’m sure I have a million e-mails already from loyal viewers about it, but we’re still in the process of figuring it out.”

“The L Word” will wrap its final season with an open-ended story line that will continue online – and into the spin-off, should it get picked up.
