Well, that’s one way to extend a show concept – Showtime is taking “The L Word” and making it a reality series. Nine episodes of “The Real L Word: Los Angeles” will chronicle six lesbians living in Los Angeles

Showtime expects to begin airing “The Real L Word” sometime next year.

Creator Ilene Chaiken commented on the move to reality series, saying, “Even though we concluded our sixth season of ‘The L Word’ on Showtime this past March, I believe we are not nearly finished telling our ‘L Word’ stories. Showtime has yet again come forward to continue with us this mission to entertain and enlighten and bring more ‘L’ to the world.”
