Taylor Swift’s Grammy 2010 Performance: Label CEO Blames Technical Issue

Taylor Swift’s 2010 Grammy performance has been getting tons of criticism for being, well… terrible.
Taylor Swift’s record label’s CEO is coming to her defense, however, blaming a technical issue and praising Swift for her talent, even if that’s not what you heard at the Grammys.
Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta told The Associated Press: “This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”
Borchetta commented on Taylor Swift’s performance, saying: “Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it. … She’s an extraordinary songwriter and her vocal performances are getting better. Everybody is not perfect on any given day.”
And here comes the technical issue excuse… Borchetta says: “We had a volume problem in the ear. So, she was concerned that she wasn’t able to hear everything in the mix. That’s just part of live TV. … You’re going to have difficulties on occasion.”
Hmmmm…. yet somehow Pink managed to sing effortlessly while spinning on a trapeze soaking wet.
