NBC has decided not to renew the contract on “Dateline NBC” correspondant Stone Phillips when it expires in June.
Ann Curry, will continue and other “Dateline NBC” reporters will serve as on-air hosts.
“It’s been a wonderful 15 years,” Phillips said in a statement issued by NBC. “I’m profoundly appreciative of the many friends and colleagues, past and present, who have been a part of the `Dateline’ family. This is a great news division with a bright future. I wish the people of NBC News all the best.”

I hate that you have chosen to let Stone Phillips go at the end of his contract. I so enjoy him on Dateline. What a huge mistake on your part.

I think it’s a great idea to let the idiot go! My god…he’s probably a multi-millionaire by now and doesn’t even “need” to work anymore. Plus…there’s no doubt that if he was with NBC…then no doubt he’s a
left-leaning” liberal and doesn’t need to be on TV anyway. We have enough liberals poisoning the news as it is.

Phillips is leaving “Dateline” because he has been courted by CBS for co-anchor on “The Evening News” with Couric. NBC refused to match an offer by CBS. Phillips will bolster CBS’s dropping market share.

I have enjoyed Stone Phillips over the years.If it wasnt for his nice clean ways and looks I may not have stayed watching DATELINE.He has made the show a success..I am sorry you are not contracting him as he has given your show the best..he has made it what it has become..I will miss Stone Phillips..you should be ashamed of yourself for letting him go..I hope it will make a difference with the show down the line and make you realize the mistake you have made.
