Stephen Colbert lands the cover of Sports Illustrated, posing in speed skating spandex (and tie, natch) for his support of the U.S. Speedskating team, who lost their main sponsor, Dutch Bank DSB, when the bank declared bankruptcy in October.

Stephen Colbert asked his “Colbert Nation” to make donations to the U.S. Speedskating website, and more than 9,000 visited the site to help out, raising over $250,000 for the Olympic team.
