Stephen Colbert’s WristStrong Bracelets Equal Big Money for Charity

Is there anything that The Colbert Report’s Stephen Colbert can’t do?
What started as a funny joke about a wrist injury Stephen Colbert had – quickly turned into a lucrative endeavor. And mostly by accident.
After Stephen Colbert injured his wrist, he created the “WristStrong” Bracelets to “raise wrist injury awareness” – think Lance Armstrong’s “Live Strong” bracelet and there you have it.
Sales of Stephen Colbert’s bracelets took off and on Wednesday’s show, Colbert presented a check for $171,525 to the Yellow Ribbon Fund. Stephen Colbert’s funny joke raised money for the organization, which assists injured service members and their families.
Colbert previously raised $17,000 for the Yellow Ribbon Fund when he auctioned off his cast.
