While Katherine Heigl and Alec Baldwin have been the most vocal about skipping the Golden Globe Awards, there are likely to be other stars that will also boycott the event in support of the writers’ strike.
“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” star Marg Helgenberger is married to the President of the Screen Actors Guild, Alan Rosenberg, so she has some first-hand knowledge of stars who will not be in attendance.
Marg Helgenberger commented, “I already know there’s many nominees that have already called my husband and said they aren’t crossing the picket lines.”
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced earlier this week that they would not permit a waiver to allow producers of the Golden Globes and Academy Awards events to hire striking writers.
For now, the awards show producers are going on with the show — the Golden Globes air on January 13 and the Academy Awards ceremony airs on February 24.
