Fox Someone's Gotta Go reality show
Leave it to Fox to introduce a reality show called “Someone’s Gotta Go” – where employees of troubled companies get to choose who among them gets laid off. Sweet, huh?

“Someone’s Gotta Go” is currently in production, though Fox hasn’t revealed when the reality series will air.

On “Someone’s Gotta Go,” a company with 15-20 employees will have to cut costs due to the economy. Employees will get to see everyone’s salaries and decide who will be fired.

Why would any company want to take part in this kind of reality show? While Fox does say the laid-off worker gets a small severance, there are no details about whether the participants will be paid for the series.

Mike Darnell, chief of alternative programming at Fox, says of “Someone’s Gotta Go,” “I feel that it’s part of the times that we are living in. It’s certainly no worse than watching the news every night and hearing all the statistics and watching what is happening. To be frank, like all these shows, if you don’t want to watch, don’t watch it.”

What do you think of Someone’s Gotta Go? A reality series worth watching, or a sad reminder of these tough economic times?
