Shania Twain and “Idol” news… Shania Twain will serve as guest judge during the August 30 and 31 Chicago auditions of American Idol. Shania Twain is one in a growing list of fill-in judges to replace Paula Abdul’s vacancy.

Shania Twain will drop in for the Chicago American Idol auditions, while Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson and Joe Jonas will pick up the slack in other audition cities.

Twain and the other guest judges are stepping in after Paula Abdul decided to leave the show when she could not meet a contract agreement with Idol producers.
