Selma Blair to Star in ‘Kath and Kim,’ Playing Molly Shannon’s Daughter

“Kath and Kim,” based on an Australian series, has been rumored from NBC for quite awhile. Molly Shannon was cast some time ago, but the role of her daughter had not yet been determined.
Selma Blair is now said to be in discussions to play Molly Shannon’s daughter Kim in “Kath and Kim.”
This mother/daughter comedy shows the pair’s dysfunctional relationship. Since casting had not been completed, the show was pushed from early 2007 to summer 2007. Well, we’re well beyond that, but at least a cast is now in place.
This isn’t Selma Blair’s first time on the small screen – fans may remember a quirky little WB comedy series starring Selma Blair, called “Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane” (which, incidentally, I loved). Selma Blair has also appeared in the films “Cruel Intentions,” “The Sweetest Thing,” “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy.”
