Seinfeld Bus Hopes to Increase Awareness on College Campuses

Hard to believe that college kids don’t have a clue about Seinfeld – but the Seinfeld bus that’s making the rounds to college campuses hopes to change all of that. Sony Pictures Television has sent a Seinfeld bus on a 26-city tour of campuses, complete with plenty of Seinfeld memorabilia.
They hope to raise awareness about Seinfeld and increase the viewers for TBS’ Seinfeld repeats, which are down 21% over last year.
College students were asked about the show and in most cases, the comedy didn’t register with their generation. They likely were just too young to see the series when it originally aired – one University of Georgia senior commented, “My generation is more likely to make Family Guy references than Seinfeld references.”

I actually went to the roadshow in Atlanta this week…it was really fun! Lots of really cool artifacts to look at (through Plexiglas, of course), and an array of Seinfeld-related snacks (Twix, black-and-white cookies, nonfat yogurt, Snapple, etc.). It was really fun–like Festivus in August!
