Scrubs to be Renewed for Ninth Season?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scrubs may return for a ninth season… ABC is in talks to renew the doc comedy with some or all of the original cast members retrurning part-time or full time.
Uh… does this seem like a bad idea to anyone else? Can’t Scrubs just wrap up business this season and have a proper series finale?
Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is involved in the renewal talks and discussions with the cast, but nothing has been nailed down yet.
The new interns were introduced this season on Scrubs as a possible way to extend the life of the series with a new crop of doctors, and the possible new deal would find ways to bring original cast members back in recurring roles.
Zach Braff had already said this would be his last season and Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn, are already signed on for pilots.
Do you think Scrubs can live on for another season?
