Sarah Palin, Tina Fey Give SNL Another Ratings Boost

Saturday Night Live has already been seeing a big ratings bump this season with Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin, but when Palin and Fey were on the same show? SNL ratings skyrocketed – earning the show its best ratings in 14 years!
Sarah Palin’s SNL guest spot was highly anticipated probably not so much for what she would do on the sketch comedy series, as much as for the hope of seeing Tina Fey and Palin go head to head. Instead, viewers got a walk by of the real and fake Palin in the opening sketch.
A March 1994 SNL with skater Nancy Kerrigan as guest host was previously the highest rated of the series.
Early estimates put the Sarah Palin/Tina Fey (and hey, shout outs to guest host Josh Brolin, Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin are in order too!) SNL ratings at around 14 million.

Tina Fey and the whole SNL crew has really picked up their game for this election season…it’s “must see” these days! LOVE IT! But I’ll still be happy to see Sarah Palin disappear from the cultural scene when it’s all over and done. (I HOPE!)
