Russell Brand to Get Comedy Central Special

After his stint as MTV VMA host, Brit comic Russell Brand is in hot demand – earning a comedy special on Comedy Central.
The hour-long Russell Brand comedy special will air on Comedy Central in 2009, but will be filmed in New York City in November.
Elizabeth Porter, Comedy Central’s senior vice president for specials and talent said of the comedy special, “Russell Brand’s comedy is a perfect match for our audience. He’s a fresh new face with a rock-star aura and a unique and unpredictable act that pushes the envelope of comedy. American audiences who have been exposed to Russell through ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ and the VMAs have seen just the tip of the iceberg.”
