Wow, Rosie O’Donnell fans are hardcore. Over 14,000 of them have signed an online petition to have Elisabeth Hasselbeck fired from The View.

According to the petition site, it’s not just an issue with the fallout from the on-air fight of last week. They also said this:

“While the purpose of The View is for different views to be expressed, each co-host should be able to express their views without being attacked by a closed-minded co-host who blindly refuses to listen to facts and uses the show to angrily spout propaganda.”

Sounds like it’s just a bunch of people who are angry that one person on their TV screen holds a different opinion than they do. I personally disagree with 95% of what Elisabeth says on any given day (and the things we do agree on are inconsequential, like the fact that we both loved AI’s Blake Lewis) but I love having her on because it’s hilarious to listen to her justify the things she believes in. I doubt that she will be fired, the producers know that having differing opinions is what makes the show work. Meanwhile I’m looking forward to watching this morning to see if it’s addressed at all, though it probably won’t be.
