It’s hard to imagine Rachael Ray not being a chatterbox, but the Food Network darling and talk show host has throat surgery planned for December 16. Rachael Ray said of celebrating the Christmas holiay, “We’re going to celebrate very quietly.”

Rachael Ray also commented, “A lot of people have told me about the surgery and they say the hardest part is just being quiet.”

Rachael Ray expects to return to taping her talk show in January. The surgery is not related to throat cancer, but rather will be a minor procedure to “remove a benign cyst on her vocal cord,” according to Ray’s rep.
