Great news, “Lost” fans. Rumors swirled earlier in the week that President Obama’s State of the Union address would be broadcast on February 2 – messing with the premiere of Lost’s first episode of its final season.

Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof took to Twitter to break the good news: “OBAMA BACKED DOWN!!!! Groundhog Day is OURS!!!!!!! (God Bless America)”

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the date of the State of the Union will be announced soon.
