People’s Choice Awards Change Due to Writers’ Strike

First came the announcement that the People’s Choice Awards would not include a red carpet due to the striking writers — fewer celebrities attending the event could mean a pretty lame red carpet. Now even more People’s Choice Awards changes are in store.
The People’s Choice Award is scheduled to air January 8 on CBS — and while Queen Latifah is still on board as host, the format of the People’s Choice Awards will be drastically different.
Rather than the typical awards show format, the People’s Choice Awards will include fan submitted questions and pre-recorded acceptance speeches. The People’s Choice Awards president said, the “new approach will give fans a more personal glimpse into the lives of their favorite actors and musicians.”
