What’s up with Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi? Is there a feud brewing over at American Idol?

First, Paula Abdul makes a comment that “We tried four judges before and it doesn’t work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show.”

Now, Kara DioGuardi is responding, saying, “Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person.”

Are things getting ugly over at Idol?

Paula Abdul is backtracking now on her comment, telling Entertainment Tonight that her quote was taken out of context and that she’s “thrilled to have her [Kara] by my side each week on ‘American Idol.’”
