If Paula Abdul’s judging gig on American Idol falls through, “So You Think You Can Dance” producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe has a job for Abdul as judge on the dance competition.

A deal has yet to be reached between American Idol producers and Paula Abdul, leaving many to speculate that Abdul won’t return to the Idol judging table.

Nigel Lythgoe commented, “We would certainly consider [Abdul as] a guest judge. Without question.”

Paula Abdul is more than qualified to judge a dance competition, as a former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader and choreographer, she certainly has the dance background.

Lythgoe noted this about the contract negotiations witih Abdul and Idol, saying, “They will talk and try to iron things out, and if they don’t come to an agreement, then Paula will move on. At the end of the day, that program is bigger than any individual. Even Simon.”
