No Immediate Plans to Replace Amy Poehler on SNL Weekend Update

We knew that Amy Poehler was irreplaceable – but Lorne Michaels is confirming that there are no plans to replace Amy Poehler on SNL’s Weekend Update.
Lorne Michaels told The Post that Seth Meyers is “going to be doing ['Update'] solo for the foreseeable future.”
Lorne Michaels also commented, “My hope was that Amy would stay forever . . and these changes are complicated. I’m not trying to dodge this.”
Lorne Michaels does say that Saturday Night Live will add two female cast members “as soon as we find them.”
Michaels gives no confirmation about Barack Obama appearing on the November 1 SNL, saying, “I heard the rumors about him, and there were also rumors about John McCain. Again, I’m not being coy, but until people are in the building…”
