Congratulations to “Simple Life” star Nicole Richie and musician Joel Madden — tonight the couple had a baby girl! The baby weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and they named her Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

The couple’s rep told People magazine, “The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents.”

I find it surprising that baby Harlow Winter Kate Madden (that’s a mouthful) and mom would be released from the hospital so soon. Then again, Nicole Richie had the baby at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which had a lot of buzz last week for the way it handled Britney Spears’ visit from Dr. Phil.

Now that Nicole Richie baby bump watch is over, let’s set our sights on wedding plans! Joel Madden was quoted in September, saying, “marriage is in our future… right now our priority is our family and is the baby.”
