Conan O'Brien
All this buzz about the Jay Leno Show today spilled over into Conan O’Brien territory, with many fearing that Leno would bump Conan off the late night map.

NBC has issued a statement about Conan O’Brien:

“We have the best comedy team in the business. We remain committed to keeping Conan O’Brien on NBC. He is a valued part of our late-night line-up, as he has been for more than 16 years and is one of the most respected entertainers on television.”

I like Jay Leno but he had no business having the authority to pick his successor years ago. Johnny Carson had little or no sayso in picking his successor…why was Leno? Most people didn’t like Conan O’Brien. The only one who liked Conan was Jay Leno. Leno had no crystal ball to tell him what O’Brien’s popularity would be like today. That’s why this whole mess belongs right in Leno’s lap!
