Miss America Is Homeless….Again

Country Music Television has dumped the Miss America Pageant.
The pageant is now in search of a new TV home after Country Music Television decided to drop the telecast. The Viacom-owned network had rights to air the pageant through 2011.
Pageant officials say they’ve begun the search for a new TV home.
The news is another blow to an American institution that has struggled to find a place in modern popular culture. The January crowning of Miss Oklahoma Lauren Nelson as Miss America drew 2.4 million viewers.
