Family friends discuss Michael Jackson’s possible cause of death in this Today show video clip, mentioning the use of prescription drugs and stress in his life. People.com is reporting that there was an intervention for Michael Jackson in 2006.
A family insider told People.com, “The family believes Michael is addicted. There was an intervention in Las Vegas. Janet was on the phone, but Randy, Jackie and Rebbie were there in person. Michael got p—ed off. He said he wasn’t on drugs. But they didn’t believe him.”
Michael Jackson died yesterday after suffering cardiac arrest at his home. An autopsy will be conducted today, although some tests may take days or weeks for results.
Another factor considered to have been in play was stress – Michael Jackson lived a life under the spotlight, with less than favorable attention over the years, and he was estimated to be in debt to the tune of $400 million.
Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman told CNN, “If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson’s life.”
TMZ is reporting that a doctor that lived with Michael Jackson is missing and police are looking for him for questioning. One insider says the doctor may have given Jackson an injection of Demerol (morphine-like drug) and Jackson may have died from an overdose.

It’s a terrible way to die, but we must focus on the musical legacy he left behind and build on that legacy.
Who would have thought this would work as a country song? Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean? Dr BLT discovered that it would a couple of days after Michael Jackson passed away, as he was sitting in front of a local Starbucks in Bakersfield, California, strumming his guitar to a country rhythm.
After running the idea by Big House frontman, Monty Byrom, and having Monty sing it back to him, he was even more convinced. So he’s taking it to the studio with rising Bakersfield country artist, Penny Marie.
