Mary Jo Buttafuoco’s book, “Getting It Through My Thick Skull,” tells the story of her marriage to husband Joey Buttafuoco and how she was shot in the head by his mistress, “Long Island Lolita” Amy Fisher in 1992.

In her autibiographical book, “Getting It Through My Thick Skull,” Mary Jo Buttafuoco explaiins why she stayed with Joey, saying, “At the beginning, I was just too sick to leave him. I stayed because my children had been through enough trauma. I stayed because I’m a Catholic.”
