Little Girl Loses Hannah Montana Tickets Over False Essay

Apparently little girls will go to great lengths to get their hands on Hannah Montana concert tickets – even lie.
A six-year-old Texas girl who won the Club Libby Lu essay contest (including a Hannah Montana makeover and four tickets to the sold out Miley Cyrus concert as well as airfare to the Albany, New York show) had to give the tickets back when it was found that her essay wasn’t true.
According to Club Libby Lu chief executive Mary Drolet,
“Club Libby Lu greatly values honesty and integrity. In order to uphold these values, we have decided to withdraw the award initially given to the Ceballos family. Consequently, we will award the prize to another winner. With this decision, we hope to revive the intended spirit of the contest, which was designed to make a little girl’s holidays extra special.”
So, what did the little girl write that had so many people up-in-arms? The essay started:
“My daddy died this year in Iraq. I am going to give mommy the Angel pendant that daddy put on mommy when she was having me. I had it in my jewelry box since that day. I love my mommy.”
The girl’s mother claimed that the little girl’s father died April 17 in Iraq, the victim of a roadside bombing. The mother, Priscilla Ceballos, later admitted that the story was not true, saying, “We did whatever we could do to win.”
