Lipstick Jungle
So, I’m not sure that “Lipstick Jungle” is going to be such a slam-dunk, despite NBC’s best attempts to market the heck out of it.

“Lipstick Jungle,” which stars Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price as career women, debuts tonight — but will you be watching? And will “Lipstick Jungle” be different enough from “Cashmere Mafia” to matter? Or will both of these new women’s series cancel each other out?

Catch “Lipstick Jungle” tonight at 10 PM on NBC and let me know what you think.

Here are just a few of the poor reviews for “Lipstick Jungle:”

  • Washington Post review calls it “glittery junk that nobody needs.”
  • L.A. Times says “Lipstick Jungle is to Sex and the City what New Coke was to Coca-Cola — a brand extension best forgotten.”
  • Seattle Post Intelligencer says it’s a “tacky soap opera.”

I AM SOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED THAT LIPSTICK JUNGLE IS GOING TO BE CANCELLED. I THINK IT IS WELL WRITTEN, AND NOT AT ALL LIKE SEX AND THE CITY. IT IS SOPHISTICATED AND EMOTIONAL. LOVE ALL THE ACTORS! AM VERY UPSET.

This show is absolutely horrible. The characters are whiny with nothing below the surface. It seems as if the writing is done by high school students who try way too hard to accentuate the trendy aspects of life in Manhattan. The wannabe clever comments that are constantly thrown around by the irritating characters made the story lines non-believable, and turned the series into a destined failure. This series was an unrefreshing clone. What happened to creativity in writing?!?!
