Leave It To Beaver’s Barbara Billingsley Death, Age 94 (Video)
“Leave It To Beaver” star Barbara Billingsley’s death at age 94 is sad news to report, but everyone is remembering the iconic TV mom today… and yes, Billingsley once even spoke jive in “Airplane!”
Barbara Billingsley, who played June Cleaver on Leave It To Beaver, died October 16.
Barbara Billingsley’s death comes after the actress suffered from rheumatoid arthritis; she passed away in her Santa Monica home.
Jerry Mathers who played “The Beaver” on Leave It To Beaver issued the following statement:
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend and lifetime mentor Barbara Billingsley. She will live in the hearts of her fans as a wonderful actress and be remembered by her friends as a gracious lady. Barbara was a patient advisor and teacher. She helped me along this challenging journey through life by showing me the importance of manners and respect for others. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends, fans and most especially by me.”
Barbara Billingsley starred on Leave It To Beaver, appeared in Airplane!, made a return to her June Cleaver role in the 1983 TV movie Still the Beaver and The New Leave It to Beaver series, and provided the voice of Nanny on Muppet Babies.
