Kristy Lee Cook – the former American Idol finalist – has moved on to a hunting reality show. Yes, you read that right.

Kristy Lee Cook makes the move from an aspiring singer to a reality show star – but in a totally different genre than you’d expect.

The new series, “Goin’ Country,” on cable network Versus, shows Kristy Lee Cook’s struggle to secure a record deal, but also shows Kristy Lee going on hunting trips across the country.

While Cook has only been hunting for six years, she’s not a complete newbie – last month she shot a black bear that got into her horse barn in Oregon.

Kristy Lee Cook commented on her bear hunting, saying, “That bear had been causing trouble for five nights, eating grain and spooking my horses. He was making a mess of the whole barn. One night I was walking in the house and I saw something standing in the door of my barn and I got him in one shot.”

Look for Cook on the eight episode hunting show, where she’ll travel to different locales – hunting for pheasant, turkey, bear and other animals.

Kristy Lee Cook was the seventh finalist on American Idol season 7.
