Kathie Lee Gifford Joins Today Show April 7 (Video)
It’s official - Kathie Lee Gifford is back on our daytime television. This morning she joined the Today show to announce her gig as a regular on the fourth hour of Today (really? do we really need a fourth hour?), beginning April 7.

Kathie Lee Gifford formerly graced our TVs with Regis Philbin on Live!, but after 15 years, she left the show in 2000. The perkier Kelly Ripa filled her shoes.
Kathie Lee Gifford quipped this morning, “It couldn’t be worse timing, in some ways. I’m eight years older, 10 pounds heavier and half-an-inch shorter — just in time for HD television.”

Certainly nobody I know, and we’re in the demo NBC counts on for Today. We watch the Today Show because it’s a happy way to start the day. Gifford is that annoying woman who, when we see her in the supermarket, makes us steer our carts in the opposite direction. GMA must be thrilled, considering what this is going to do to its ratings.
