Katherine Heigl’s “27 Dresses” Release Delayed to January 18

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl’s latest film, “27 Dresses” was set to be released January 11, but there’s been a delay.
Fox has moved the opening of “27 Dresses” (co-starring dreamy James Marsden) to January 18th. Why the move? No real reason was given – although the studio said the sneak preview did really well and another round of sneak peeks will happen this weekend to build more interest.
Also, by opening a week later, “27 Dresses” won’t have a lot of date-movie competition. The only other film opening that weekend is the sci-fi thriller “Cloverfield.”

If it did so well in the sneaks, why would they delay it? They’d just lose more paying audience. They must have a stinker and would rather take their lumps from Cloverfield and Mad Money than eat up any possible audience for Juno.
