Katharine McPhee is following in the footsteps of other “American Idols” – no, not Jessica Sierra!

“American Idol” runner-up Katharine McPhee has parted ways with record company RCA – similarly, Ruben Studdard (season 2 winner) and Taylor Hicks (season 5 winner) were let go by RCA Music Group. <--more-->

According to a rep for RCA Records, “Katharine is going to record her next album on her own.”

Not to worry about Katharine McPhee’s career, however. There are still plenty who have McPheever!

Katharine McPhee will also be seen in her first film later this year – “I Know What Boys Like,” co-starring Anna Faris.
