“American Idol” season 6 winner Jordin Sparks was expected to fly out of the gate with her new album, but it looks like her album sales for the first week are the lowest of any “Idol” winner. Granted, it’s the first week, but Billboard is reporting Jordin Sparks’ album is “the lowest start and smallest sales debut for any of the show’s winners.” Ouch.
Look on the bright side, though. Jordin Sparks’ debut is sitting at number 10 on the Billboard 200. However, it’s only sold 119,000 copies. Look at it this way: Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of “American Idol,” sold 297,400 albums and was number one on the charts the first week. Ruben Studdard sold 416,000 and was #1; Fantasia Barrino sold more than 239,00 and was #8; Carrie Underwood sold 315,000 and landed at #2; Taylor Hicks sold 298,000 and was #2.
Has the “American Idol” machine run out of steam?

No AI didn’t run out of steam. Jordin put out a juvenile, silly, lyrically vapid CD. I put the blame right on her an her label.

Well at least you can understand the lyrics. blakes WOW you cant understand a thing . there is way too much beat and his voice is hiding behind it. i was thinking about getting blakes cd but i cant stand it

I think that both Jordin and Blake put out amazing debut albums, both hit potential, but I think the show is losing it’s creditbility after Taylor Hick’s win last season. So basically, as I see it, Blake and Jordin were wasted on season 6.

Jordin got f**ked because the producers didn’t promo her enough. Plus the late nights were on strike. She is platinum now and selling like crazy. All the haters can SHUT_FACE.

Her album was pretty poorly written. Whoever she worked with to write the songs should be fired.
