I think I’ve been missing the Comedy Central news boys – Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert – most of all during the writers’ strike. Now I’m forced to watch the real news again.
The good news? Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will return on January 7!
The bad news? “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report” will return without writers.
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert released a joint statement:
“We would like to return to work with our writers. If we cannot, we would like to express our ambivalence — but without our writers we are unable to express something as nuanced as ambivalence.”
Late night funny guys Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel will return January 2 without writers. And David Letterman? He’s meeting with striking writers today to reach a deal to air the “Late Show” with its writing staff.
